Review: Archangel's Eternity by Nalini Singh
★★★★★

How is it the end already? I remember when the first book came out and I devoured it. Watching Elena grow into her new life and seeing Raphael change and adapt with her is wonderful. This is a perfect ending blending nostalgia with hope for the future. Elena reminiscing all that has happened. It is incredible the journey she went through and how it even explains her origin story and the impact it has on her.
What I really liked about this story was how we fast forwarded a thousand years to see how the angels and vampires are still thriving. Particularly sweet is seeing how Elena and Raphael have continued to grow close together. The poignancy of losing mortal friends over time is a hardship so well expressed in this book. The yearning for friends lost to aging is so well described here. I cannot image the constant pain of losing people. It makes it completely understandable why some of the older vampires and especially the immortal angela become calloused and harden their heart against a never ending loss.
Amongst all this angst, a new conflict has come to force the Cadre to either work together and splinter into chaos. It is interesting to see each Archangel's choice. This conclusion is satisfying and hits all the spots I would want in a fantastic series. Whilst it is sad to see this series end, I loved where Elena and Raphael end together. Visiting all the various angels felt like joyous homecoming. Ms. Singh brings out all the feels in this ending. Recommended for paranormal romance lovers who have loved this series.
