Review: It Takes a Psychic by Jayne Ann Krentz

As long as the world of Harmony keeps on going, I will be an avid reader and fan. This long running series comes in spurts over the years. I am glad Jayne Ann Krentz is in her "Harmony" years. The humour in these keeps it balanced with the dark somberness of the male characters. One could say that all of these characters are pretty much the same as her other books. Brooding male and strong female lead finding each other . . . Whilst this is true, the way she creates this characters and the interaction they have along with the plot of the story is what lures me back to her books every time. Love it!

In this suspense Leona teams up with Oliver to uncover bad things done by corrupt people. When it comes to "magical" psychic power, those who do not have much always want more. And isn't this the essence of this world of Harmony? Those who have marginal skills want to amp it up high so that they can be "the powerful one". Those who do have off the chart talents need to keep it under radar for fear of being shuffled off into a lab or worse, "un-marriageable". Oh the shock and horror of not being able to be matched to another. I digress.

I liked both Leona with her spunky fearlessness and Oliver's much put upon demeanor. Their pairing was fun as well as productive. They solved the case, didn't they? But once again, what steals the show is the dust bunny. The dust bunnies are agents of chaos and cuteness. There is just something about them with their freedom from the rules of society that brings out the gleeful child in readers. I love them. I wish they were real and that I would be graced with one finding me to be their humble hooman servant. This is another winner from the talented Ms. Krentz. Recommended for all paranormal romance lovers.
