How many authors are writing about the Morelli and Constantine family? I seem to be stumbling across them like a drunken bumble bee. This newest book is about one of the Morelli, specifically Carter who is not at all what he seems.
This is a very short story that can be read in less than 30 minutes. It is a nice teaser for the book to follow. So far to date, the Morelli and Constantine are crazy af warring families with deviant sexual tastes. On top of it, some of the kinky BDSM is slightly BDSM hostile. Once I realized this book kicks off a series in this Midnight Dynasty world, I was hesitant to continue. I'm really not into mafia books or messed-up abusive relationships dressed up as hawt sex from an alpha male.
I can say this book doesn't give off that vibe. Instead, it seems to be more suspense with a curmudgeonly young professor much put upon by a young clueless photographer. Just as the story gets tense, it is over! I guess that is why it is a prequel teaser. I am definitely looking forward to reading the first book to see what will happen next. This short story is recommended to readers who enjoy a bit of suspense with their romance.
